French association demands end to US blockade against Cuba

The French association Cuba Linda demanded this Saturday the immediate lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, which it described as genocidal.

In a statement issued at the end of its general assembly, it urged the United Nations to consider the blockades and unilateral sanctions against sovereign countries, a hostility faced by Cuba for 60 years, as illegal.

The organization created in 1998 to promote solidarity and the rapprochement of the French to the reality of Cuba, denounced the siege of Washington for its impact and the brake it represents on peace and cooperation, principles defended by the UN.

In this regard, it called on the United Nations to establish a strong position against governments that bet on aggressive and criminal measures.

Cuba Linda also called on the European Union and the French government to declare the hostile actions of the United States against Cuba, including the extraterritorial component, null and void.

The association also repudiated the media propaganda and lies to attack Cuba and denigrate its medical cooperation around the world.

With regard to this solidarity in the health sector, he reiterated his request to award the Nobel Peace Prize to the Henry Reeve medical brigades, which are fighting the Covid-19 in dozens of nations.
